What is Red Gembone?
Red gembone, or agatized dinosaur bone, is found in fossil-rich regions of the western United States, such as Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado. Its fiery red coloration comes from iron-rich minerals like hematite, which were deposited during fossilization. These minerals not only preserve the intricate cellular structure of the bone but also create mesmerizing patterns that make each piece a true masterpiece.
The gembone we use in this piece is from fragments that are impossible to match with the rest of a dinosaur skeleton, which makes it impossible to know which species it came from.
